Today, alt-pop icon Chloe Star unveils the official music video for her explosive single “Call You Back”.
Fueled by gritty instrumentation, rousing lyricism, and Chloe’s commanding vocals, the song is a biting, bold, and cathartic anthem. “It’s about how this girl left me for a guy who literally looks like me,” Chloe explains. “Like, the male version of me, which is honestly kind of hilarious and devastating at the same time. On the surface, we’re the same: same vibe, same clothes, same scene. But the song is me calling out the difference between looking the part and actually showing up.”
Driven by electric guitar riffs, heavy basslines and gritty instrumentation, Call You Back feels like a throwback to the early 2000s pop-rock era, the kind of emotionally loaded, high-energy sound that once dominated MTV and teenage bedroom speakers. That nostalgic edge works in the song’s favour, giving it a familiar but fresh energy, with Chloe balancing raw lyricism against commanding vocals that cut straight through the noise.
At its core, the track is personal. Chloe explains that the song was inspired by the surreal experience of being left for someone who, in her words, was essentially “the male version” of hersame style, same scene, same energy. It’s that strange overlap between resemblance and replacement that fuels the song’s tension, turning it into both a call-out and a cathartic release.
The accompanying visual brings that tension into sharp focus. Blending raw emotion with high-impact performance, the video captures the chaos, hurt, and dark humor at the center of the story. Chloe collaborated with choreographer Ryan Ramirez (Christina Aguilera, Jessie Murph, Jennifer Lopez) and stunt coordinator Nate Horowitz to bring the video concept to life.
“The video closely reflects the meaning of the song,” Chloe shares. “It follows that moment of walking in on my girlfriend cheating and the emotional spiral that follows. We had so much fun bringing it to life with an incredible team of creatives and stunt performers. It really captures the pain and intensity that comes with betrayal.”The official visual, directed by Gracie Tea and starring Chloe alongside Tyler Powell, brings that emotional spiral to life with sharp storytelling and performance-driven intensity.
Known for fusing raw vulnerability with high-voltage rockstar energy, Chloe Star is a bold new voice for the next generation of rock-pop outsiders and visionaries. Born of Indigenous and Persian heritage and raised between Los Angeles and her family’s reservation in San Bernardino, Chloe’s artistry is rooted in her layered identity. A fierce advocate for marginalized voices and queer visibility, she channels her lived experience into songs that feel both deeply personal and universally resonant.
Since making her debut in 2023, Chloe has released two EPs, the bed i lie in (2024) and Apt. 1101 (2025), which have earned her praise from tastemakers like CLASH, 1883 Magazine, Just Jared, and EUPHORIA. In 2025 she expanded her reach across new audiences with her Pride Tour in the US and the UK.
Now, with a steady rollout of new singles arriving each month, Chloe continues to build momentum. With her electrifying stage presence, genre-bending sound, and rapidly growing fanbase, she is carving out a world that feels entirely her own.
