Matt Hansen has spent the last few years quietly building one of the most impressive independent success stories in modern pop music. Without the backing of a major label, the Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter has amassed more than 1 billion streams worldwide and built an audience of over 6 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Now, on 15th May 2026, Hansen enters a new chapter with the release of his debut album, Orchid.

He says; “Orchid is an album about loving too deeply, losing yourself, finding the courage to leave and learning that healing can make space for something healthier to grow. After building a global audience online, he took that audience offline in 2025 with his first world tour, performing 41 headline shows across North America, Europe, and Australia. Along the way, he sold out venues, performed to more than 1,000 fans in London, and joined Dean Lewis on his North American tour. He has also shared stages with artists including Teddy Swims, Lauv, Train, and Alec Benjamin.

For many artists, reaching these milestones would require years of major label support.
