SYKY, the luxury digital fashion platform founded by Alice Delahunt, partnered with the British Fashion Council (BFC) to host “Worlds Collide,” an immersive event celebrating digital innovation in fashion. The presentation highlighted the work of mixed-reality designers who are pushing boundaries and blending physical and digital fashion.
Curated by SYKY Artistic Director Nicola Formichetti, the showcase displayed The Last Dance by Taskin Goec, a hybrid collection exploring “carnal romanticism of the hyper-real” by Berlin-based mixed-reality designer Taskin Goec. Set against a backdrop reminiscent of a technological swamp, the collection displayed an ethereal allure, utilising AI, intricate textures, and digital simulations.
Each piece from the collection, evoked a sense of intrigue and fascination. Goec, leveraged custom AI models to produce a sold-out jacket piece called, “Unfurl,” in addition to six other distinct looks, like the bouquet baseball cap, and a leather jacket called, “Mutate,” which he described as “A jacket that allows you put a dry flower in it.”
From the mutant ninja mannequins to avant-garde fraying techniques, every detail of the collection was crafted for viewers to explore the intersection of fashion and technology within the walls of London’s cultural epicentre, 180 Strand, and Formichetti reaffirmed this by stating, “The mix of fashion and technology presents exciting opportunities for all of us to push boundaries, innovate, and shape the industry.”
Complementing Taskin Goec’s avant-garde creations was KWK by Kay Kwok’s collection, renowned for its futuristic, genderless designs that transcend conventional style. The brand has carved a niche for itself in experimental fashion, pushing the boundaries of creativity, under the visionary leadership of Kay Kwok.
The collection presented iconic pieces worn by musical icons like Beyonce, Karol G, and Bjork. These history-making garments, available for the first time through SYKY, represent a unique opportunity to own a piece of pop culture.
From Taskin Goec’s hyper-realistic creations to KWK by Kay Kwok’s futuristic designs, each collection displayed the power of imagination, innovation, and the limitless possibilities of digital fashion.
As fashion continues to evolve in the digital age, SYKY and its collaboration with the British Fashion Council continues to set a new standard for creativity and innovation in fashion.
