Sonia Ahmed Debuts New Single ‘I Know You Want It’

Sonia Ahmed’s new single is here, and trust me, “I Know You Want It.”

Newport-based artist Sonia Ahmed has just released her newest single “I Know You Want It”on July 26th. The track is Sonia’s latest effort to carve out her space in the music industry, combining her South Asian heritage with her Welsh upbringing.

“I Know You Want It” aims to mix contemporary pop with subtle South Asian influences. The song opens with a mix of hip-hop beats and a hint of traditional percussion, setting the stage for Sonia’s vocals.

Lyrically, the song features themes of desire and confidence, with Sonia explaining, “This song is about when you meet someone in the first instance and they play the chase or games when they know they want you, It is to basically just let them know.” The verses feature flirtatious lines that don’t hold back, with lyrics like ‘I want to spend every night with you and ‘take my clothes off, a dinner for two’ painting a vivid picture of attraction and intimacy.

The chorus centers around the repeated phrase “I know you want it,” which Sonia hopes will resonate with listeners. “I wanted to create something fun and groovy,” she shares. The lyrics attempt to balance relatability with a bold, forward approach to desire.

Sonia’s vocal performance on the track moves between sultry verses and more powerful choruses as she showcases her range. As a new artist, It is evident she’s still in the process of defining her sound and finding her footing in the music scene.
