Making its international runway debut, Platnum Apparel brought its mission of “Fashion with Purpose” to Swansea Fashion Week. The brand’s contemporary and sustainable collection showed off and showed out before it’s attendees at the Fashion show.
The brand’s dedication to eco-friendly fashion was evident throughout their collection. Founder Adeola Adedokun emphasises, “We believe beautiful, stylish clothes shouldn’t come at the expense of our planet.” This philosophy translated into their insistence on using sustainable materials like breathable cotton and linen.
The “Loose Fitted Unisex Two-Piece” made from sleek cotton showed their fondness for eco-friendly materials. “This piece exemplifies our belief that stylish clothes shouldn’t compromise our planet,” said founder Adeola Adedokun, ‘It was made entirely from breathable cotton, and offered a relaxed silhouette perfect for all genders and a staple for any wardrobe.‘
Another standout was the Limited Edition Cotton Jacket paired with cascading fabric strip. The cotton jacket featured a sleek, branded detail, while the fabric strips on the jeans added a dynamic touch. This outfit was a statement piece, inspiring confidence and fusing style with eco-consciousness.
The activewear line also wowed, with the pure cotton Modern Two-Piece providing sustainable style for an active lifestyle. Crafted from a pure cotton blend, this activewear set prioritised both comfort and sustainability. The long-sleeve crop top and comfortable trousers offered versatility for various activities, proving that functionality and eco-friendliness can go hand-in-hand.
Finally, the last look of the night, was the ‘Freedom Top,’ It’s african-inspired woven details paid homage to the brand’s heritage. This piece celebrated African craftsmanship, and was made from breathable translucent linen and paired with cargo shorts adorned with woven aṣọ òkè fabric, it showed Platnum’s sustainable practices.
Throughout the show, Platnum’s drive for greatness alongside environmental consciousness shined through. “Together we rise, together we thrive” served as the theme, and rise they did – leaving audiences inspired by fashion that treads lightly on the planet.
