Paris Fashion Week: The Gift that Kept on Giving

In a spectacular finale that could only happen in Paris, the Spring/Summer 2025 fashion season has come to an end. Paris Fashion Week SS 25, gave us show-stopping moments that left everyone talking. From iconic runway debuts to bold statements in high fashion, this season truly felt like the gift that kept on giving.

Setting things off, Kylie Jenner made headlines with her runway debut at Coperni’s show. Set against the backdrop of Disneyland Paris, Jenner closed the show in a dark, voluminous strapless gown that channeled her inner goth princess. Coperni co-founders Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant divided the collection into three sections, representing “the evolution from childhood to adulthood that we can see in Disney movies.” Jenner’s dramatic look was the perfect conclusion to the show, making her debut one of the most talked-about moments of the week.

Dior’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection was another standout. The show kicked off with an arrow shot by artist Sagga Napoli and continued with a sleek, athletic-inspired collection from Maria Grazia Chiuri, keeping the Olympic spirit alive. The reinterpretation of archival cuts, such as the iconic Amazone dress from 1951-1952, celebrated autonomy and femininity. With stars like Dior Princess Jisoo, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Nam Joo Hyuk in attendance, the show delivered on both star power and fashion, featuring a mix of lightweight jerseys, shiny embellishments, and vibrant red accents on the runway.

Yves Saint Laurent also made a ton of noise this season, with a front row full of A-listers, including Blackpink’s Rosé, who stunned in a lace camisole and vintage fur. Korean actor Cha Eun Woo made his debut appearance at the show in an all-brown suit, while Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoë Kravitz, and supermodel Kate Moss all joined the star-studded audience. Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello’s collection was a sultry, luxurious affair that had everyone buzzing.

Over at Courrèges, sleek sculptural silhouettes and sensual cutouts ruled the runway. Korean idol Woo Young and actress Nana graced the front row, along with Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz, adding to the glamour. Designer Nicolas Di Felice delivered a masterclass in minimalist design with a palette of neutral colors that enhanced the collection’s modern edge.

Day three of PFW saw Acne Studios, known for its surrealist takes, show up and show out. With soft sculptures and installations by artist Jonathan Lyndon Chase as the backdrop, the brand’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection was a display of domestic aesthetics. The collection toyed with silhouettes, from super-shrunken to inflated, creating a world where upholstery-like fabrics were changed into wearable art.

Chloé, meanwhile, brought a sense of lightness and freedom to the runway. Creative director Chemena Kamali captured the essence of summer, combining fabrics like sun-faded lace and billowy silks in earth tones and apricot pinks. The collection was all about reconnecting with the joy of the season, with delicate, lingerie-inspired pieces paired with tailored summer looks. Front row stars included Korean actress Jeon Jong Seo, model Taylor Hill, and fashionista Kiwi Lee.

One of the week’s most viral moments came from Vetements, where runway model Anok Yai unintentionally became the “runaway bride.” After walking down the runway in a wedding gown, Yai sprinted back toward the escalators in a chaotic but culture-defining moment. She later explained on social media that the sprint wasn’t planned, but it instantly went viral, with Gigi Hadid commenting that it was “MAAJOR.” Vetements delivered a cheeky yet serious collection, featuring duct tape bandage dresses and a newspaper print gown.

Vetements SS’ 25 Fashion Show

As the week progressed, the shows continued to deliver jaw-dropping moments. Vivienne Westwood, the undisputed queen of punk chic, reimagined classic aesthetics in her Spring/Summer 2025 collection. Cardi B and Ateez’s Hong Joong made a splash at the show, with Westwood’s sustainable designs showcasing bold patterns and eclectic prints. Hermès embraced exhibition this season, featuring raw materials with refined techniques to create versatile and elegant pieces. The atelier presented chestnut silk twill rompers and flowing calfskin coats that merged functionality with sensuality.

Valentino, under the new creative direction of Alessandro Michele, delivered a dramatic return to the runway. Michele transformed the show venue into an abandoned house filled with shattered mirrors, using vibrant floral hues to inspire the collection. Stars like Harry Styles, Jared Leto, and Yoona from Girls’ Generation gathered to witness Michele’s bold, fresh take on beauty, setting the stage for Valentino’s new era.

Balenciaga also turned up the heat on day 7 with skin-tone bodysuits, backless dresses, and corset-style lacing, all while Britney Spears’ “Gimme More” blared in the background. The exaggerated silhouettes were complemented by oversized jackets and 360 wraparound eyewear, cementing the show as one of the most exciting of the week.

Schiaparelli also captured attention with its signature knitwear, updated for Spring/Summer 2025 in a chic, lightweight version. Models like Kendall Jenner and Irina Shayk walked the show, which featured refreshed versions of classic bags like the Secret bag and Jewelry Anatomy range. Menswear-inspired pieces with invisible corsets added a playful twist, glorifying the female form while subverting traditional styles.

Chanel, however, closed out the week with a powerful message of freedom. Gabrielle Chanel’s famous quote about never being caged served as the inspiration for the Spring/Summer 2025 collection. Tweed, feathers, and capes graced the runway, with Riley Keough delivering a breathtaking performance as she swung in a cage to end the show. Blackpink’s Jennie, along with actresses Fala Chen and Rebecca Patricia Armstrong, were among the many stars soaking in Chanel’s return to the Grand Palais.

And just like that, Paris Fashion Week SS’ 25 ended, leaving us with memories of striking collections, unforgettable moments, and a front row full of fashion royalty. The magic of Paris Fashion Week never fails to deliver, and this year was truly the gift that kept on giving. See you next season!
