The song draws inspiration from Homer’s relationship with her fiancé and longtime collaborator, Isaac Waddington. It traces the beginnings of their relationship and the connection that first brought them together. What began with a brief moment of recognition after seeing him on television soon developed into something much deeper. From moving in together only weeks after meeting to building a family side by side, Cathedral Walls captures a relationship shaped by both change and consistency.

Music has been a central part of Homer’s story for several years. She first introduced listeners to her world through her debut EP God’s A Girl, before continuing that journey with If You Were On Fire in 2021.
