JESSIA Is Back with Moved Around You—And It’s a Must-Listen

From the moment I hit play on JESSIA’s latest single, “Moved Around You,” I knew this one was special. There’s something about it—maybe the ethereal, heartfelt vocals, maybe the raw, confessional lyrics—that instantly reminded me of early Christina Perri or Ellie Goulding. It’s sweet, catchy, and ridiculously easy to sing along to. But beneath the dreamy melodies lies an anthem of heartbreak, self-reflection, and ultimately, resilience.

Fresh off her debut headline tour across the U.S. and Canada, JESSIA isn’t slowing down. With over 400 million streams to her name and a growing reputation for crafting deeply emotional anthems, she continues to push the boundaries of pop music. Her latest release, “Moved Around You,” is no exception.

A deeply self-reflective track, “Moved Around You” captures the ache of giving your all to someone who never fully reciprocated. It’s a story many of us know all too well—the push and pull of a relationship where one person is all in, while the other remains distant, indecisive, and emotionally unavailable. JESSIA takes those emotions and transforms them into a powerful moment of catharsis. The song’s soaring melodies and conversational lyricism make it impossible not to feel every word she sings.

“‘Moved Around You’ is for anyone who’s fallen too hard in a casual relationship,” says JESSIA. “It always hurts to care more than the other person, but this song takes that pain and turns it into power—celebrating the fact that we were brave enough to put our hearts on the line.”

The lyrics paint a vivid picture of heartbreak and self-discovery:

“I know all about your family/And your previous abandonment/Makes sense that you’re afraid of commitment/And just kept me wishing”

She captures the bittersweet realisation of being led on and emotionally drained, all while clinging to the hope that maybe, just maybe, the other person will come around. But as the chorus kicks in, the song shifts from sadness to strength:

“I’m allowed to say it hurts/Even if it meant nothing to you/I won’t apologise for all the ways I moved around you/At least I wasn’t afraid to jump
/At least I didn’t just say what you wanted/At least I didn’t lead you on”

JESSIA is no stranger to vulnerability in her music. Since her viral hit “I’m Not Pretty” in 2021, she has consistently delivered songs that resonate deeply with listeners. Her debut EP, How Are You?, earned her the Breakthrough Artist Award at the 2022 Juno Awards, while her sophomore EP, Okay With Every Part, showcased her ability to independently carve out her own path in the industry.

With “Moved Around You,” she adds yet another unforgettable song to her growing discography. It’s a track that asserts that heartbreak doesn’t define us—it discovers us.
