Jacklyn Isn’t Holding Back On New Single “Don’t Be A *ick”

West London’s very own rising popstar Jacklyn has dropped a song that feels like both a party and a pep talk rolled into one. Out on August 20th, her new single *“Don’t Be A ick” is the kind of track you’ll want blasting when you’re walking away from anyone who doubted you.

With co-signs from UK hit-makers Lola Young and Cat Burns (both of whom she’s supported on tour), Jacklyn is proving she’s stepping into the spotlight.

“*Don’t Be A ick” is a song layered with punchy dancefloor-ready production, Jacklyn’s buttery vocals glide over an infectious chorus that makes you want to dance and scream the words at the same time. It’s the ultimate middle finger to fake love and doubters, packaged in a track that feels as bold as it does fun.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the release, Jacklyn says:

Relatable? Absolutely. Playable on repeat? Even more so.

Before stepping into her own lane, Jacklyn sharpened her pen writing for household names like Jorja Smith, Giggs, and Majestic. But now, she’s proving that her storytelling hits harder when she’s the one holding the mic.

And the industry’s already paying attention. With BBC Radio 1, Ones To Watch, Vanity Teen, and Spotify playlists like Fresh Finds UK & IE and New Music Friday UK all rallying behind her, Jacklyn’s momentum is undeniable. Add to that a sold-out headline show and high-energy support slots with Lola Young and Cat Burns, and you’ve got an artist who’s making it clear she’s here to stay.

Jacklyn’s music infuses nostalgic pop vibes with modern, candid storytelling, giving her songs a pull that’s both personal and universal. With past singles like “Zitillites” and “Right Back” already turning heads, *“Don’t Be A ick” feels like a defining moment, the one where she puts her foot down and lets the world know she’s not to be underestimated.
