Fresh off the success of her debut single Temperature, the Cardiff-based R&B artist, Bruna Garcia is back with her highly anticipated follow-up track, Back In Town, set to drop on March 7, 2025. And trust us—it’s a track you don’t want to miss.
Produced and co-written by Calum Conaghan, Back In Town is a rich mix of electronic contemporary R&B, laced with subtle house and pop influences. Inspired by KAYTRANADA’s infectious grooves, Victoria Monét’s effortless sensuality, and Aaliyah’s timeless smoothness—all wrapped in Bruna’s signature style. The track starts stripped back, pulling you into its rhythm before bursting into a euphoric chorus backed by dramatic string arrangements. It’s fresh, fun, and filled with emotion—everything we love about Bruna Garcia.
“The track explores the feelings of longing for a closer love and relationship, in a space where physical distance is prominent, It’s a song about unexpected love, effortless connections, and embracing the moment with no pressure—just good vibes.”
At just 23, Bruna Garcia is quickly establishing herself as one of the most exciting voices in Welsh music. Born in Portugal and raised in Cardiff, her Cape Verdean roots play a crucial role in shaping her soulful sound. From early days singing in school and church choirs to backing vocals for top Welsh artists, she’s been honing her craft for years.
Her debut single Temperature turned heads, landing her a spot on BBC Introducing Live 2023 (Wales) and airplay from respected DJs like Aleighcia Scott, Adam Walton, and Bethan Elfyn on BBC Radio Wales. She’s graced stages at Sŵn Festival and Cardiff Music City and even made an appearance on ITV’s Backstage programme. With each performance, she proves that she’s an artist with a story to tell and a sound to be heard.
Bruna isn’t just lending her voice to her music though—she’s leading the creative charge. For Back In Town, she takes on the roles of Creative Director and Executive Producer, ensuring her vision comes to life exactly as she imagined. The track’s official music video, directed by Joe Andrews, promises to be a stunning visual experience and premieres on YouTube on March 14, a week after the song’s release.
The road ahead looks bright for Bruna. She has been named as one of Youth Music’s NextGen Fund Ones to Watch for 2025 and was selected for the PRS Foundation-backed Forte Project, a program that nurtures the next generation of Welsh musical talent. As if that’s not impressive enough, she’s also been awarded the BBC Horizons Launchpad Fund for 2025. With all this support, it’s clear that big things are coming.
Currently, Bruna is in the studio working on her debut EP, perfecting a sound that is uniquely hers. But if you can’t wait to see her live, you’re in luck—she’s hitting the stage soon! Catch her at Newport Music Trail on March 29 and Focus Wales in Wrexham on May 9 (Hope Street Church).
Mark your calendars—March 7, Back In Town drops everywhere. And trust us, you’ll want to press play on this one.
