Camila Cabello – Godspeed “Godspeed” is the heartfelt track from Camilla’s album C.XOXO, which everyone loved watching her perform at the VMAs. The song leans into themes of love, parting, and wishing the best for someone as they move on. With touching lyrics like, “But you know me, you know me, I / Always know just when to leave / When the night is past its peak,” it conveys the bittersweet emotions of letting go, and the repeated phrase “Godspeed” reflects her sincere hope for the other person’s peace and happiness.

FLO – Check FLO’s latest release ‘Check’ is the ultimate feel-good song, The track features smooth harmonies and a playful vibe, focusing on themes of love and self-assurance. As the lyrics suggest, “So all my friends ask me, ‘Is he loyal?’ (Check) / ‘He spoil you?’ (Check) / ‘Does he clear that?’ (Check?) / ‘Before you met him, did you do your background?’ (Check?),” it captures a playful dialogue about a romantic partner’s character. The chorus also emphasises confidence, with lines like, “The way I trust him, I ain’t gotta check / ‘Cause he give it so good.”

Tate McRae – It’s Ok I’m Ok “It’s Ok I’m Ok” by Tate McRae is a catchy pop song and the first taste of new music since her highly anticipated 2023 sophomore album THINK LATER, which debuted at #4 on Billboard’s album chart. Written and produced with hitmakers Ryan Tedder, ILYA, and Savan Kotecha, this track marks a new chapter for the star. The pre-chorus captures her feelings with lines like, “And she be like, ‘He’s so perfect’ / I be like, ‘Oh, what version?’ / ‘Ain’t nobody got me this nervous.’” In the chorus, she reassures herself, singing, “It’s okay, I’m okay, had him in the first place,” re-affirming her strength and acceptance.

Addison Rae- Diet Pepsi “Diet Pepsi” is the Y2K-inspired pop anthem that marked Addison’s official entry as a Billboard Hot 100-charting artist and reignited her music career. The single is her first solo release since last year and her debut on Columbia Records. The dreamy track channels the vibe of Lana Del Rey’s Born to Die, telling a tale of young love with nostalgic imagery. In the chorus, she sings, “When we drive in your car, I’m your baby (So sweet) / Losing all my innocence in the backseat.” Accompanying the song is a playful black-and-white video featuring Addison riding shotgun, smashing a banana split with her feet, and feeding her driver cherries with her toes, all wrapped in the American flag.

The Weeknd – Dancing In The Flames Dancing in the Flames” is a sensual song by Grammy award-winning artist The Weeknd, released on September 13, 2024, as the lead single from his upcoming sixth studio album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. He first performed the track live on September 7, 2024, at a one-night-only concert in São Paulo, Brazil. The lyrics evoke a sense of urgency and passion, with lines like “Traffic dies while we are racin’ home / Melted lights cover the open road / I hope we make it, ’cause I’ve been chasin’ / Another odyssey, oh.” This sets the stage for a thrilling ride, highlighting the thrill of love and risk. The chorus captures the intensity of their connection: “If I miss the brake / We’re dancin’ in the flames / It’s indescribable.”

Hozier- Too Sweet Too Sweet” has been viral since its release in March, quickly gaining traction for its candid account of overindulgence and the challenges of self-discipline. The song depicts the mindset of someone who struggles to say no to their impulses, illustrated in lyrics like, “I’d rather take my whiskey neat / My coffee black and my bed at three / You’re too sweet for me.” This stark contrast between indulgence and restraint resonates with listeners, contributing to the track’s widespread acclaim and popularity on social media.

Shaboozey- A Bar Song (Tipsy) “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey has made a significant impact, spending 10 weeks on the Billboard charts and becoming the longest-running number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2024. Released on April 12, 2024, as the fourth single from his album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, the song topped charts in multiple countries, including Australia, Canada, and the United States. The track features catchy, relatable lyrics about unwinding after a long day: “Someone pour me up a double shot of whiskey / They know me and Jack Daniels got a history / There’s a party downtown near Fifth Street / Everybody at the bar gettin’ tipsy.” This lively anthem reflects the narrator’s frustration at work, turning to the bar for relief and fun. Notably, Shaboozey made history as the first male Black artist to hold the number one position on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts simultaneously, following Beyoncé’s historic achievement with “Texas Hold ‘Em.”

Wasia Project – Somebody Come Through Isotope, the latest EP by music duo and siblings Will Gao and Olivia Hardy is a modern jazz and indie-pop acclaimed record. Released via AWAL Recordings, it features a short film that serves as the project’s visuals. The EP follows their singles “Is This What Love Is?” and “Takes Me Back Home,” highlighting their growth since their 2019 debut. One of our favourite tracks from the EP is “Somebody Come Through” with its accompanying music video that just makes you want to let go. With Isotope, the duo tell a story of anxiety, confusion, and hope, and the release further establishes them as rising stars in the music industry.

Matty Marz- M.W.U Matty Marz, a rising New York-based electro-pop artist, makes a strong statement with her debut EP, m.w.u, out now. As part of a new generation of young trans women in pop, her record is filled with infectious melodies and pulsating electronic beats. The seven tracks examine the balance between light and dark, joy and sorrow, and growth and loss.

“m.w.u stands for ‘moment with you’ and embodies living fully in the present,” Matty shares. “This album reflects my journey of embracing my identity as a trans woman, hoping to inspire others to find confidence in themselves.”

Thundermoon- Ritual “Ritual” is the latest single from Edinburgh-based synth-pop band Thundermoon, released through New Teeth Leith. This track is the third and final single leading up to their upcoming EP, We Can Do Better Than This, set to drop on November 8th. It displays the band’s darkest synth-pop sound yet, with queer-centered tropes of self-destruction in love. It dwells on the addictive highs and lows of complex connections, with evocative riffs underscoring the confusion and dependency in toxic relationships. The pulsating beats and infectious synths confront the irony of forgiveness and sacrifice.

Bennett Eliott – You’re Not The One “You’re Not The One” by ‘Younger me crooner’ Bennett Elliot looks into the complexities of recognising when a romantic connection isn’t right. The song tackles the emotional struggle of realising that your partner may not be “the one,” challenging the idea that true love is always clear—often expressed with the phrase “when you know, you know.” Elliot’s lyrics reflect a range of conflicting emotions, from guilt to the stubbornness that often accompanies the acknowledgment of a mismatched relationship. This makes the song a relatable take on love and the tough moments of knowing when it’s time to let go.
