Amechi: I have always enjoyed being in front of a camera since I was young.

Amechi Madu has achieved great success in the competitive world of fashion. Despite being relatively young, he has walked the runways of Paris Fashion Week and London Fashion Week. In our interview with Amechi, we delve into his incredible journey since he joined EMKAIModels in July 2023.

For Amechi Madu, the allure of the camera was a lifelong passion. It wasn’t until 2022 that he took the leap into the world of modeling, scouted by an agency that ignited his curiosity. The pivotal moment came in July 2023 when Amechi officially joined the ranks of EMKAIModels.

The path to the runway wasn’t always clear. Wrestling with the challenges of breaking into the fashion industry, Amechi’s luck turned when he spotted Maurice, a fellow model from EMKAIModels, also sharing ties with Amechi’s football club. Seizing the moment, he sent his images to Martin Kurina, EMKAIModels’ founder, setting the course for his modeling career.

Amechi’s runway resume boasts prestigious events like Swansea Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, and the pinnacle, Paris Fashion Week, where he walked for RDNT designed by Andre Tan. His most significant achievement, he reveals, was the cast for the Paris Fashion Week show, an exhilarating experience that blended excitement with nervous anticipation.

Recalling a special moment on the runway, Amechi fondly remembered his debut at London Fashion Week for Sariusai in september 2023. During the show, he wore something different—a short skirt paired with a leather jacket, stepping away from what he was used to. Even though it was a new and somewhat nerve-wracking experience, particularly with over 500 people watching, Amechi enjoyed every moment of it.

As Amechi navigates the fashion landscape, he expresses his fascination with the industry’s dynamic nature. Balancing uncertainty and opportunity, Amechi has embraced every facet of his journey. He candidly reflects on the challenges, particularly the uncertainty between bookings, emphasizing the importance of trusting the process.

Beyond the runway, modeling has been a catalyst for personal growth for Amechi. It has not only opened doors but has provided a platform for building connections, refining communication and social skills, and fostering happiness through travel and exploration.

Looking forward, Amechi envisions himself as one of the most recognized male models in the industry in the next five years. His ambitious goals include being featured on Vogue, securing a billboard feature, participating in Milan Fashion Week, and establishing himself as a prominent figure in the modeling world. Given his current trajectory, these aspirations seem well within reach.

As 2023 concludes and 2024 beckons, Amechi anticipates a more focused and driven version of himself. With a commitment to seizing every opportunity, the coming year promises to be a chapter of growth and accomplishment for Amechi Madu.
