TIËRNY: Love, Loss, and Everything In-Between

“Music is how I express myself,” TIËRNY tells us. “It’s a documentation of my emotions and perspective presented in sonic form.”

And she’s not exaggerating. Every song in her catalogue feels like a diary entry cracked wide open — dramatic, cinematic, and beautifully intense. It’s honest in the way that good art should be: vulnerable, emotional, maybe even a little uncomfortable — but real.

If you’ve heard her latest single Maria, you know exactly what we’re talking about. It’s hypnotic and heartbreaking, laced with ghostly vocals and baroque flourishes that feel like they’ve been lifted straight from a gothic novel. The lyrics? Brutally intimate. “Put your head between my thighs, I died a little death every time,” she sings — not just for shock, but to paint a picture of love, loss, and everything that sits in-between.

“Lyrically, I want to tell the truth, even if it’s messy,” she says. “There’s so much pressure to polish everything, but I’m drawn to the moments where things break — that’s where the real stuff lives.”

TIËRNY calls her sound Baroquetronica — a fusion of emotional storytelling and alt-pop melancholy. Like Lana Del Rey meeting FKA Twigs with the poetic edge of Ethel Cain and a choral grandeur that wouldn’t feel out of place in a Florence Welch track. Still, even with the comparisons, her work feels unmistakably her own.

Her first project, REVELATIONS, set the tone. That was the moment people really started paying attention. With raw lyrics that dove into themes like addiction, mental health, grief, and redemption, it introduced TIËRNY not just as a vocalist, but as a truth-teller.

“I pour my heart and soul into my music in the hope it can help people heal theirs,” she says. “I want people to feel seen when they hear it. To not feel alone.”

She’s part of a growing wave of alt-pop artists who are blurring genre lines and telling stories from the heart, and as a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, her voice adds even more depth to the conversation. There’s something about how she frames devotion and identity that resonates on a deeply personal level — especially for those who haven’t always seen their love stories reflected back at them.

Beyond the music, she’s built a reputation for soul-stirring live shows, performing everywhere from the EuroFest stage to HMV LIVE, and sharing the bill with artists like Lydia Ainsworth and Stealing Sheep. She also teamed up with Jameson and Sofar for the “Seen & Heard” initiative — a project focused on platforming voices that often go unheard.

Her new chapter, backed by cutting-edge label G-IRL, feels like a coming into her own. “Joining G-IRL has been transformational,” she says. “I’ve found my creative home. There’s something powerful about being surrounded by people who champion your artistry and support your vision.”

And that vision? It’s big. The upcoming Retrospect EP promises even more of the lush, emotionally charged music TIËRNY is becoming known for. But for now, Maria is more than enough to hold us — a heartbreak anthem with teeth, tenderness, and truth.

“This is just the beginning,” she says, smiling. “But it already feels like I’m exactly where I need to be.”
