Nature took center stage at Ostara Rose’s Cardiff Fashion Week show, a beautiful display of the Welsh brand’s commitment to both sustainability and breathtaking design. The collection, drawing inspiration from various aspects of nature exuded a sense of ethereal beauty.
As we all know, Ostara Rose, founded by the environmentally conscious Natasha Rose, is known for its unique approach to fashion. From turning discarded materials into one-of-a-kind pieces, to prioritising slow fashion and minimal environmental impact. “Our ethos is to revive fabrics from the ashes,” Natasha says.
Her commitment to sustainability and design extends beyond fabric selection. This collection incorporates traditional techniques like bojagi fabric and ancient pleating, while the use of pure intense blue, red and pink hues reminiscent of the structural arrangements found on insect wings and bird feathers, showed the brand’s appreciation for craftsmanship.
“This season’s theme is inspired by nature,” Natasha Rose, founder of Ostara Rose, explains when asked about the collection, “particularly the intricate webs spun by spiders and the delicate, shimmering threads they use to balloon through the air, the use of diaphanous and textural fabrics further accentuates the collection’s theme, highlighting the beauty of the androgynous human form.”
Natasha Rose, a graduate with first-class honours in Environmental Conservation Science, brings her expertise to every aspect of Ostara Rose. “My studio runs on 100% green energy,” she says, “and we have KPIs to continuously improve our environmental impact.”
“At OR, sustainability is the core driving force behind our brand and has become a key pillar across everything we do, from the clothes we make, to the way we package and deliver our unique pieces.”
At her Cardiff Fashion show, attendees admired the blend of sustainability and sophistication within the collection. From the delicate craftsmanship to the use of eco-friendly materials, the pieces resonated with fashion enthusiasts and eco-conscious consumers alike. Each outfit on the runway, crafted with delicate pleats and shimmering textures, seemed to shimmer with its own inner light, as Natasha Rose’s vision for ethical fashion became clearer. She anticipates the moment when her creations inspire fashion lovers worldwide.
