Let’s talk Gucci. Yes, that iconic Italian luxury brand that has been setting the standard for haute couture since, well, forever. But today, we’re not just talking about any old Gucci show. Oh no, we’re talking about the beauty of the Gucci Cruise 2025 show in London. And let me tell you, I was stunned.
The Gucci 2025 Cruise Show brought the stars, the models, the clothes, and all the hot, steamy, leather pieces that is peculiar to London Fashion Shows, It marked the first London show by Sabato De Sarno since taking over the reign from Alessandro Michelle, and he wanted to show that Gucci was back in London, and back to stay, with the theme of the show being, “We Will Always Have London.”
Having London they sure did, as the models walked (in flats btw!) through the halls of the Tate Modern gallery, nestled along the riverside of London, providing the perfect backdrop for the awe-inspiring show.
Let’s start with the A-list celebrity guests – Dua Lipa, Solange, Demi Moore, Salma Hayek, Little Simz and even flippin’ Kate Moss were all decked out in Gucci’s finest threads as they sat front row. When you’ve got fashion royalty like that showing up and showing out, you know you’ve hit the big leagues.
But even with all those major names in attendance, the true star was De Sarno’s insanely cool collection. From the corduroy minis to the très chic pussybow blouses to the oversized leather bombers and two-pieces, he nailed that sweet spot of polished yet rebellious style that Gucci has made its signature.
Those embroidered jeans with the feathered fringe detailing? Mind-blowing. The dégradé beaded chamomile pattern on the organza pieces? Breathtaking. This collection oozed pure glamour with just the right amount of grungy edge.
I loved how De Sarno tapped into Gucci’s history with pieces inspired by the brand’s London origins – like the dope horse-bit ballerina flats and clompy brothel creepers. Talk about a fresh take on vintage vibes.
And can we discuss that incredible finale moment when Debbie Harry’s iconic “Heart of Glass” vocals kicked in as the new Blondie bag made its debut? Goosebumps, baby!
With this Cruise 2025 collection, De Sarno has stamped his mark on the iconic Gucci brand while still paying respect to its roots. He’s infused the house codes with his own bold, ornate aesthetic and the result is pure high-fashion magic.
Bravo to Gucci for bringing true spectacle back to the London runway. If this is what De Sarno’s got in store, consider me officially aboard the Gucci gang from here on out. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go sell my iPhone to get those feathered jeans….
