Exclusive: Chris J Birch Confirmed as Host for the 2025 KLAT Awards

It’s official, we couldn’t be more excited to announce that Chris J Birch will be hosting the very first KLAT Awards, taking place on Saturday 1st November 2025 at the Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel & Spa in Cardiff.

If you’ve spent any time in Wales’s creative scene, the name Chris J Birch will likely already ring a bell. A multi award-winning entrepreneur, host and all-round creative, Chris has built a career around championing the arts and making space for new voices to be heard. Whether he’s on stage, on air, or behind the scenes developing strategy and mentoring fresh talent, Chris has long been one of the key figures involved in shaping Wales’s cultural scene.

He’s hosted countless events, worked across radio and TV, and played a huge role in nurturing the next generation of artists. His reputation for insight, humour and genuine care for the creative community makes him a perfect fit for this milestone moment.

The KLAT Awards aren’t just about shiny trophies, they’re about recognising the people, stories and moments that are pushing culture forward. And having Chris J Birch as our host brings exactly the energy we want for the night: sharp, celebratory and full of heart.

Beyond the stage, Chris is currently in pre-production on two new documentaries and co-hosting a soon-to-launch podcast Pain in the Arts, which promises to tell stories of the highs and lows of life in the creative industries, all served with his signature wit and warmth.

So, whether you’re a nominee, a supporter, or someone who just loves to see creative work being celebrated, trust us: you’re in good hands. Chris will be leading us through an evening of live performances, red carpet moments, a gala dinner and, of course, the official afterparty, all as we shine a light on some of the most exciting voices in arts and culture right now.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the KLAT Awards in Cardiff this November.
