Charlotte Sands has just shared her latest single, Afterlife, following on from the success of HUSH and neckdeep. The LA-based alt-pop artist has spent years carving out a space for herself in the scene, and this new release shows exactly why fans connect so deeply with her music.
Afterlife is at once euphoric and haunting, exploring love in its most eternal form. With soaring hooks and electrified production, it captures the feeling of a connection so deep it feels like it spans lifetimes. Charlotte explains:
“It’s about a connection so deep it feels eternal, like your souls have met a thousand times before, in every universe and across every timeline,” she says. “It’s about the rare and beautiful certainty that no matter what this lifetime holds, you’ll always find your way back to each other again — in the next life, and in every one after that.”
Since her debut in 2018, Charlotte has steadily built a dedicated following, combining emotional honesty with massive, singalong-ready hooks. She’s spent over 15 weeks in the U.S. Top 40, won Best Breakthrough Album at the Heavy Music Awards, and has accumulated over 300 million global streams — all as an independent artist. Along the way, she’s shared the stage with My Chemical Romance, 5 Seconds of Summer, and YUNGBLUD.
In 2024, Charlotte embarked on a global headline tour in support of her album can we start over?, and this summer she headlined idobi Radio’s Summer School Tour alongside Rain City Drive and Taylor Acorn. Her live shows are a big part of her appeal, known for their energy and the way she makes fans feel like they’re part of the story she’s telling.
Charlotte’s aesthetic is just as striking as her music. With her bright blue hair, Y2K-inspired style, and magnetic presence, she has become alt-pop’s “it girl.” But behind the bold visuals is a hands-on artist: she designs her own merch and jewelry, crafts her signature makeup looks, and creative directs all of her visuals. Every detail, from sound to style, is entirely her own.
Afterlife continues Charlotte’s exploration of love, vulnerability, and emotional intensity. It’s a song that feels personal and universal at the same time.
