There are songs that make you think, and then there are songs that make you feel. Laura Pieri’s “Flown Away” does both but more than anything, it makes you move. It’s the kind of track that sneaks up on you. It’s freedom in a beat—bright, airy, and completely irresistible.
The single leads Frankie On The Dancefloor, an expanded edition of Pieri’s 2024 EP Frankie, out May 30. Alongside four new remixes, “Flown Away” acts as a reintroduction and a rebirth. From the first shimmering synth to the steady, dance-floor-ready groove, you can practically feel the breeze in your hair. It’s the perfect song to add to your summer playlist, the kind of track you want playing as you’re driving into golden hour or dancing barefoot on your rooftop.

There’s a lightness in Pieri’s voice, but also strength. You can hear that this is a woman who’s been through something and come out the other side glowing. The lyrics say it best:
“I’m not even sorry, but I’ve flown away. I don’t need to worry. I’ll take you off me.”
It’s a song about letting go—of someone, of something, of whatever was holding you down—and choosing joy instead. And that joy is infectious. Pieri isn’t bitter or heartbroken; she’s unapologetic in her freedom. There’s a calm confidence in the way she delivers each line, like someone who’s made peace with the past and is too busy dancing into her future to look back .The beat isn’t frantic or overpowering; it pulses with just enough power to get under your skin.

What makes “Flown Away” hit even harder is the story behind it. The song didn’t originally make the final cut of Frankie. At the time, Pieri says, it just didn’t fit. “She was a misfit,” she explains. “But stepping away gave me the space to reimagine her.” That space was crucial. What emerged is a song that now feels like the heart of the project, an anthem of clarity, release, and reinvention.
This is an emotional shift for Pieri. At one point, she considered walking away from music entirely. Instead, she leaned in. Frankie, co-written with an all-female team and executive produced by Skyler Cocco, became her comeback. It was bold, deeply personal, and accompanied by a short film that gave it even more dimension.

Now, with Frankie On The Dancefloor, Pieri is bringing that same heart to the dance floor. The remixes expand her sound, combining emotional storytelling with a smooth rhythm. She’s not just reclaiming her voice, she’s celebrating it.
Born in São Paulo and now splitting her time between New York and Los Angeles, Pieri is all hustle and heart, balancing an MBA program by day and pop stardom by night, she’s as grounded as she is glowing. Her music combines Brazilian warmth with sleek pop production and “Flown Away and Frankie on the Dancefloor” are the purest versions of that.
