Ruby and Endaf Release New Single ‘To You, From Me’

If you’ve ever had a feeling you couldn’t quite put into words, Ruby and Endaf probably already wrote a song about it. Their new single To You From Me is the kind of track that gently pulls you in. It’s smooth and soulful in the best way. The production leans into dusty textures and swung drums that nod to J Dilla, while Ruby’s voice floats delicately above it all.

“We didn’t plan this to be a big thing,” Ruby says with a smile. “It started out as an idea Endaf sent me late one night, and I remember just sitting with it in my headphones thinking, yeah… this is going to stick.” That’s kind of the magic of this collaboration — nothing about it feels forced. There’s a confidence in how they work together, like two friends who don’t need to talk much to know what the other means.

Endaf’s been making serious waves in the Welsh music scene for a minute now. His Welsh-language tracks have been crowned “Track of the Week” twice on BBC Radio Cymru, and his English-language productions have landed on BBC Radio 1Xtra and Spotify’s editorial playlists. There’s a reason people are paying attention, as You can literally hear the love he puts into every groove.

Ruby, meanwhile, is quietly becoming one of the most distinct voices coming out of North Wales. Her tone is warm, honest, and completely unbothered by trends. She first caught ears with a feature on LSN’s LOFI project (alongside Roger Robinson & The Black Space Quartet), and since then has been carving out her own path with solo tracks like Learn to Grow and Love Me Better.

To You From Me isn’t trying to be the song of the summer, and that’s exactly why it works. It’s for those quiet, late-night walks when you’re deep in your head. It’s for relistening to old voice notes. It’s for letting go of things you never said out loud. “We wanted it to sound like a letter that never got sent,” Endaf explains. “Something that’s intimate but open-ended, like a message hanging in the air.”

And people are clearly feeling it. Kaptin Barrett, music advisor and hip-hop coordinator at Amgueddfa Cymru called it “a beautiful refreshing sound,” adding, “I hope this hot summer lasts because this is the perfect soundtrack.” BBC’s Aleighcia Scott echoed the love, calling the song “silky, smooth and jazzy” with a “gorgeous, funky beat.”

What makes this collaboration even more special is that it’s a North Wales story. So much of the neo-soul and R&B spotlight in Wales tends to land on the South, but Ruby and Endaf are putting their region firmly on the map, not by copying anyone, but by crafting something intimate and real. There’s a rawness to their work that doesn’t come from trying to be emotional but from actually living the words they sing and produce.

So when To You From Me drops on August 15 via High Grade Grooves, don’t expect fireworks. Expect something better: a slow burn.
