London-based singer-songwriter Levina returns with “Back In My Body”, an intimate, piano-led release that leans fully into stillness, reflection, and emotional clarity.
The beginnings of her solo career stretch over a decade, and in that time she has learned a valuable lesson about the music business that it can be creatively stifling. In 2021, she released “Thinking in the Dark”, which received critical acclaim, alongside other projects like “Let’s Talk” in 2023.
She is also passionate about empowering fellow artists and ensuring that the music industry is more equitable for all. She currently serves as Chair of the Featured Artists Coalition Artist Council, and is also an advocate for mental health in the music industry through Help Musicians and Music Minds Matter.

Known for her emotionally direct songwriting, Levina sits comfortably at the intersection of alternative soul, folk, and jazz, but what makes this release stand out is how grounded it feels. Written at her keyboard in her London flat, the track comes from a place of deep personal reflection, tracing the experience of dissociation and the slow, often quiet process of finding your way back to yourself.
Now, after taking some time to deal with personal challenges, she has returned with what feels like her most self-assured project to date. With this renewed confidence, she opens herself up more fully to her audience.
“Back In My Body” unfolds slowly, almost deliberately. It carries that smoky, late-night quality, where everything feels slightly distant but still present. The verses sit in shadow restrained and introspective before opening into softer, more light-filled moments. Her vocals don’t demand attention; they drift, weightless, sitting gently above warm basslines and textured instrumentation.

Working alongside co-producer Steven Bamidele, the track also marks a shift in Levina’s process, with this being her first official co-production credit. There’s a clear intention behind the sound: something more organic, more human. You can hear it in the way the instrumentation breathes, shaped by real musicians rather than over-polished production.
That intention carries through in the collaborators she brings in, including drummer Romarna Campbell and bassist Rosetta Carr, adding depth without overwhelming the track. Everything feels placed with care.
But beyond the sound, this release feels like part of a larger moment for Levina. After taking time to navigate personal challenges, she returns more settled, more assured. Her previous projects hinted at this, but here it feels fully realised like she’s finally operating on her own terms.

“Back In My Body” doesn’t try to resolve everything it explores. Instead, it sits in that in-between space disconnection, healing, return and allows it to unfold naturally. And maybe that’s what makes it land. It doesn’t force clarity; it simply offers a way back.
There’s a certain honesty in how she approaches it. Not over-explained, not overworked, just felt.
