A Creative Media & Podcast Development Programme by KLAT Magazine
KLAT Magazine is a storytelling and creative culture platform dedicated to highlighting the achievements of young visionaries across Wales and beyond. Through interviews, digital storytelling, creative documentation, and community-centred programming, KLAT creates opportunities for emerging creatives to grow, collaborate, and be seen.
We are proud to introduce AMPLIFY – Young Voices Wales, a fully funded, year-long creative media and podcast development programme designed for young people aged 16–24 living in Wales. AMPLIFY provides hands-on training, creative support, and real experience inside KLAT’s creative workspace, empowering young people with the tools, confidence, and environment they need to elevate their voice and expand their creative journey.
AMPLIFY centres young people from underrepresented or underserved communities, ensuring access to equipment, workshops, mentorship, and opportunities in podcasting, digital media, production, and content creation.
At KLAT, we believe that Community Builds Culture — and AMPLIFY is a pathway for young people to take their place within the creative industries of Wales.
We are seeking enthusiastic, creative, and driven young people with an interest in media, storytelling, content creation, and collaborative work. You do not need any previous experience — just passion, interest, and a willingness to learn.
AMPLIFY participants will choose at least one Creative Pathway, helping us understand their goals, interests, and where they wish to grow.
Below is a full breakdown of the creative pathways available:
For young people comfortable speaking, interviewing, hosting discussions, or developing podcast ideas.
You will learn how to present confidently, guide conversations, prepare interview questions, and represent stories authentically.
Perfect for participants who enjoy filming, visual storytelling, and capturing creative moments.
You will learn camera setup, framing, shot planning, lighting basics, and recording footage for digital content and podcast visuals.
For those who enjoy writing, researching, or shaping stories.
Participants learn scripting, writing articles, storytelling techniques, creative research, and content planning.
Ideal for organisers, problem-solvers, and behind-the-scenes thinkers.
Producers help plan shoots, coordinate guests, manage production timelines, develop podcast ideas, and support creative direction.
For young people interested in online engagement, trends, and platform strategy.
You will contribute to social content planning, caption writing, scheduling, analytics, and creating short-form promotional assets.
This pathway is for those passionate about visual identity, typography, and digital graphics.
Participants may assist in creating titles, layouts, motion graphics for videos, thumbnails, and the visual style of AMPLIFY projects.
Ideal for anyone who loves mood boards, aesthetics, styling, and set layouts.
You will help curate sets, choose design elements, and maintain the visual tone during production days.
The pathway for organised and confident communicators.
You will learn how to handle outreach, guest communications, scheduling, confirmations, and on-set coordination for sessions.
Perfect for music lovers and anyone curious about sound identity.
Participants may help curate background music for shows, understand copyright-safe use, organise audio assets, and support sound direction.
Great for detail-oriented individuals with a love for cutting, refining, and polishing digital content.
You will learn editing software basics, audio cleaning, video assembly, syncing multi-cam footage, and creating export-ready content.
For creatively expressive individuals passionate about style, garment concepts, and fashion culture.
Participants may work on creative styling for shoots, fashion-focused episodes, and assisting KLAT’s fashion-led projects where relevant.
Ideal for those interested in public relations, event organisation, and community engagement.
You may support KLAT-run events, help with logistics, manage attendees, and learn the basics of promotional strategy.
